This is, hands down, the most beautiful turquoise I have ever seen. It's not the deep blue, lifeless color of dyed turquoise...this is the real deal. These stones come from the United States, mined by Richard and Helen Shull who are dedicated to mining and cutting natural turquoise. The cabochons I have are mostly bluish green to greenish blue.  Most are clear of inclusions but not all of them. They are set in solid 18k yellow gold bezels with sterling silver posts and backs. An upgrade to gold posts and backs is available at checkout. The earrings in the photo have sold, please allow me to choose a pair of stones for you.

PLEASE NOTE: Natural turquoise contains impurities and veins of other material and finding large pieces that are free of inclusions is difficult. Some of these stones have a spot or two of inclusions but they don't detract from the gorgeousness of the stones.

Here is what Helen and Richard have to say about these stones:

Turquoise is a very special gemstone...it is a stone connected to life! Two of its main components, phosphorous (much of which comes from ancient bone) and water are critical ingredients of life. Oxygen is also a key element, oxidizing the copper to give turquoise its beautiful colors. Turquoise is truly a gem dependent on a life-giving planet…a rarity, not just here on Earth, but throughout the Universe! Since the time of the ancients turquoise has been revered as a protector and a symbol of sky and water. This turquoise formed in ancient seafloor shale at what is now known as the Dyer Blue mine. The Dyer Blue mine is a small turquoise mine located near the town of Dyer, in Esmeralda County, Nevada.

These earrings come with sterling silver posts and backs. If you'd like gold post and backs, you can add 14k or 18k backs from the drop down menu when you add this listing to your cart.

Turquoise is one of December's birthstones.
