If you've never heard of moissanite, it's a man-made diamond lookalike that's almost identical to a diamond. Moissanite sparkles like a diamond and has almost the same hardness (a 9.5 on the Mohs scale). Moissanites differ from diamonds in that they're man-made, and therefore completely ethical and conflict-free.
Moissanite is an excellent substitute for April's birthstone.
